On Wednesday, the 12th of March, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced that arms supplies to Ukraine from the US via Poland have resumed, reports Reuters.
After more than eight hours of talks between Ukrainian and US officials in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, the US agreed to resume military aid and intelligence exchanges with Ukraine.
“I confirm this,” Sikorski said. “Arms deliveries through Jasionk have returned to previous levels.
Poland’s Rzeszów-Jasionka airport, in the south-east of the country, is the main supply hub through which most of the aid destined for Ukraine is delivered.
Speaking to reporters with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in Warsaw, Sikorski said Poland was satisfied with the new proposals on Ukraine.
For his part, Sybiha reiterated that Ukraine supports and accepts the US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire.
“We are ready on our side to set up an appropriate team that will work on a plan to achieve this ceasefire if it happens,” he said.
The Kremlin said on Wednesday it was awaiting more details from Washington on the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, while senior sources in Moscow said the agreement would have to take into account Russia’s success in occupying territories and address its concerns, as the deal now looks like a trap from Moscow’s point of view.
