Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (PMPL) in cooperation with the Information Center of the Interior Ministry has started the implementation of the first stage of the project of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund – the modernization of the software platform of the Unified Migration Information System, informs PMLP representative Madara Puķe.
The PMLP representative explains that the goal of the project is to create a convenient, modern, and easy-to-use maintenance permit e-service for nationals of third countries, as well as other interested parties, which will allow documents to be submitted remotely.
IN THIS WAY, IT IS PLANNED TO SAVE CUSTOMERS’ TIME AND TO MAKE THE DOCUMENT SUBMISSION PROCESS EASIER.
As part of the new e-service, customers will be able to both submit documents for requesting a residence permit and receive decisions made by the PMLP.
The introduction of the free e-service will allow customers to get a high-quality service experience, as it will be available anywhere and at any time, as well as all submitted documents and PMLP decisions will be available together in a transparent manner.
It is planned that within the framework of the project, the development of the digitization process of documents will be continued, promoting the transition to the circulation of digital documents, as well as the introduction of an information phone where customers will be able to receive answers to questions about migration, residence permits, and visas.
The total cost of the project is made up of funding from the EU fund – 1,200,000 euros and co-financing from the state budget of 400,000 euros. It is planned that the project will last until the 30th of June, 2025.
