Par/Progressive want to liquidate two vice-mayor seats in Riga City Council

The Riga City Council faction of Par/Progressive (PP) want to change political responsibility for the transport sector in the capital city and liquidate two vice-mayor seas, said PP representative Justīne Panteļējeva on Tuesday, the 18th of July.
She stressed this is PP’s vision. The faction now plans to wait for a response from its political partners.

She said it is possible adopting a three vice-mayor framework was a mistake.

It was previously reported that negotiations involving New Unity, Par/Progressive, National Alliance/Latvian Association of Regions and Kods Rīgai still continue at Riga City Council to ensure the coalition is able to continue cooperating now that Mārtiņš Staķis has stepped down as Mayor of Riga.
All of the existing factions in Riga City Council agree that snap elections are not needed, and that it is necessary to continue negotiations in regards to future cooperation.
