Last year 19 114 light-weight vehicles were sold in Latvia, which is 13.3% more when compared with 2021, according to information from the Automotive Association.
Toyota cars were the most popular among residents – 3 453 models were sold last year, which is 18.1% of all sold new cars and 23.2% more when compared with the year prior. Volkswagen is next with 13.1% and 2 509 new cars sold, which is 29.7% more when compared with 2021. Škoda is third with 1 924 sold models, which is 2.2% more when compared with 2021.
Renault is fourth with 5.9% and 1 133 sold cars. Sales of this brand of cars have increased by 16.9%. Dacia closes the Top 5 of most popular cars in Latvia with 998 sold cars and 5.2% market share, which is 75.7% more when compared with 2021.
Data compiled by the Automotive Association indicates that
the most popular car in Latvia last year was Toyota Rav4.
A total of 965 models of this car were sold in the country in 2022. Toyota Corolla is next with 653 sales, Dacia Duster (532), as well as Volkswagen T-Cross (531) and Renault Master (506).
