A total of 54 256 used cars were registered in Latvia last year, which is 19.9% more when compared to 2020, according to information compiled by the Automotive Association.
In December 2021 a total of 4 269 used cars were registered in the country, which is 18.5% more when compared to December 2020.
Registration of used cars increased by 19.7% in 2021 – to 50 799 units. The registration numbers of light-weight commercial vehicles increased by 23.2%, reaching 3 457.
Used BMW cars were the most popular in Latvia last year – 9 392 were registered, which is 17.3% of all registered used cars in the country and 48.9% more when compared to 2020.
Next is Volkswagen – 8 202 such cars were registered last year (15.1% of market share), which is an 18.3% increase. 6 786 of Audi cars (12.5% of market share), which is an increase of 22.4%, as well as Volvo – 7 479 used cars were registered in Latvia, which is 13.8% of all registered used cars in the country and 8.6% more when compared to 2020.
The most popular used passenger car model in Latvia last year was BMW 3-Series – 3 354 of such cars were registered, followed by Audi A4 (2 354), BMW 5-Series (2 284), Audi A6 ( 2068) and Volkswagen Golf (1 796).
The most popular used commercial vehicles was Volkswagen Transporter (387), Mercedes Benz Sprinter (300), Open Vivaro (281), Renault Traffic (241) and Volkswagen Caddy (235).
