Nearly half of Latvia’s residents have plans to look for ways to secure additional income this winter. Most often residents plan to do this by getting a second job, according to results of a survey done by Citadele Bank.
With food prices and utility tariffs up, 45% of Latvia’s residents will look for additional income. In 16% of cases Latvian residents plan to look for second jobs. This option is the most popular among young men aged 18 to 29 years.
Survey results indicate that 12% of respondents have plans to sigh up for part-time jobs, 9% plan to take on a second job or sign up for more work in their existing job. Another 8% of interviewed residents say they will work on weekends to secure more pay.
Approximately 54% of interviewed Latvian residents have no plans to look for additional income this winter.
This is most often true for residents older than 60 years.
The survey was carried out by Citadele Bank together with Norstat at the end of November 2022. 1 001 Latvian residents aged 18 to 74 years were interviewed in this survey.
