Navalny calls on Russians to protest despite repression

In Russia, opposition politician Alexey Navalny, who is serving a prison sentence, has called on Russians to protest and to try to stop the country’s war against Ukraine despite threats to their security, British news portal The Guardian reports.
Kira Yarmish, the aide and spokesperson of the opposition figure conveyed the announcement.
«Alexei Navalny has called for people to go out and protest against the war every day at 19:00 and on weekends at 14:00. The main squares of your towns, wherever you are,» spokesperson Kira Yarmysh wrote on Twitter.

Navalny’s anti-corruption movement had previously called for a campaign of civil disobedience to protest against Russia’s invasion of its neighbour, The Guardian reports.
