NATO summit will promise aid to Ukraine to help modernise their army

During the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius this July, the alliance will promise Ukraine to help modernise their army, said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
On Wednesday the German Tagesspiegel published a comment from Stoltenberg, who said allies will approve a multi-year aid package that will bring Ukraine’s army to NATO standards.

He said NATO aid will help transition Ukrainian army from the old Soviet model-based forces to NATO standard military forces.

Stoltenberg said after months-long military training with NATO equipment Ukraine is now fighting to get their territory back from Russian occupiers. He also stressed the importance of continued support for Ukraine, which is defending its land from the aggressor.

NATO secretary general pointed out the difficulties with the ongoing Ukrainian counter-offensive,

such as weather conditions, landscape, Russian entrenchments, mine fields and tank traps.
On the 11th and 12th of July Vilnius will be holding the NATO summit. One of the main topics to be tackled there will be the continued support of Ukraine.
