Billionaire Elon Musk said on Wednesday, the 11th of June, that he regrets some of the posts he made last week on X about US President Donald Trump because they went “too far”, reports Reuters.
Trump announced on Saturday that his relationship with Musk was over after they exchanged insults on social media when Musk called the president’s proposed tax and spending bill “disgusting abomination”.
“I regret some of my tweets from last week about President Donald Trump. They went too far,” Musk wrote on X.
He did not specify which posts he was referring to.
Since the dispute began, Musk has deleted several posts criticising Trump, including one in which he expressed support for the president’s impeachment. Sources close to Musk said that his anger is beginning to subside and that, in their opinion, Musk may want to restore relations with Trump.
When announcing the end of their relationship on Saturday, Trump said he had no intention of restoring relations with Musk.
However, on Monday, Trump said he would not mind if Musk called him and that he had no plans to discontinue the Starlink satellite internet service provided to the White House by Musk’s company SpaceX, but that he would move his Tesla car away from the White House grounds.
“We had a good relationship, and I wish him all the best,” Trump said. Musk responded with a heart emoji to a video of Trump’s comments.
