Minister: Russia unjustifiably expels three Latvian diplomats from Moscow

Russia has unjustifiably expelled three Latvian diplomats from the embassy in Moscow, wrote Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs on Twitter.
On Tuesday Russia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry announced counter measures in response to the expelling of Russian diplomats from Baltic States. Russia has thereby expelled four Lithuanian, three Latvian and three Estonian diplomats.
On Tuesday, 29 March, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian ambassadors in relation to the expelling of Baltic diplomats, as reported by Russian news agency TASS with reference to anonymous sources in the ministry.
«At 12:00 local time ambassadors of three Baltic States were summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss Russia’s decision to expel their diplomats,» TASS reported.
Lithuania expelled four workers of the Russian embassy there. Latvia and Estonia expelled three each.
Baltic States explain this decision with Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and that the activities of these people are incompatible with the status of diplomats.
On Monday 45 Russian diplomats left Poland. Warsaw expelled them and declared their activities are incompatible with diplomatic status.
