Minister of Defence says Latvia had nothing to do with the attack on Pskov

The claim that Latvia was involved in the recent attack on Pskov in Russia is absurd and was created to divert Russian residents’ attention from the Russian army’s failures on the front, assures Latvian Minister of Defence Ināra Mūrniece.
She says attempts by NATO members states’ “external enemy” in situations when Russia suffers failures on the front in Ukraine is no surprise.

“This is not the first time we see an attempt to involve Latvia into disinformation campaign to escalate the regional security situation,” says the Latvian minister.

The Ministry of Defence invites Latvian residents to avoid disinformation reported by various Telegram channels, because their objective is likely diverting attention from the situation on the front in Ukraine and Russia’s failures there.
At the same time, the ministry, National Armed Forces, and Latvia’s allies continue actively observing and analysing both Ukraine’s fight to recover its territories and events in Russia.
On the night to Wednesday, the 30th of August, a drone attack on Pskov International Airport damaged or destroyed at least four military IL-76 aircraft.
