Congratulating residents with Knowledge Day, Latvian Minister of Education and Science Anda Čakša stressed a school should be a safe place in which children, parents and teachers feel accepted and understood.
“We entrust to schools what is precious to us the most – our children, to whom we promise they will experience true friendship, learn about the world and their talents,” said the minister.
She also invites respecting and taking care of teachers that “remain and are key to good education” despite the many changes global education is experiencing at the moment:
“With gratitude and deep respect, we will look at every flower drowning teacher who goes home after the 1st of September to stand in front of the class on Monday!”
“The Ministry of Education and Science starts the new school year with a sense of a job well done – we are on our way to a unified school, and an informative report has been submitted to the government, in which we have marked a clear move towards quality education for every child in Latvia, provided by motivated and well-paid teachers in good schools,” the minister describes the start of the school year.
