The sun will shine more often in the middle of the week. No precipitation is expected on Wednesday, the 11th of December. However, on Thursday central and eastern regions will see snowfall, as reported by Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
The layer of snow will increase by 2-4 cm. Motorists are urged to be careful, as some sections of roads will become slippery. Fog may appear in some regions, impacting visibility. The wind will blow from the west, reaching a speed of 15-19 m/sec on Thursday. Along the coast, however, wind speed may reach 20 m/sec. Air temperature at night will drop to -1° C… -6° C (a couple of degrees warmer along the coast). Daytime air temperature will not rise higher than -2° C… +5° C.
Meteorologists say that atmospheric pressure will gradually go down. Weather conditions will be dictated by a cyclone. This means more intense precipitation. Snow will become rain, causing the existing layer of snow to melt.
The wind will be moderately strong. Air temperature will remain mostly unchanged.
