Meteorologists reveal: when it will become warmer and sunnier in Latvia

On Wednesday night, rain will still fall in many parts of the country, and in some eastern areas wet snow is also expected; however, during the day precipitation will cease, and from the afternoon the skies will begin to clear, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

A light to moderate northwesterly to northerly wind will blow, gradually turning from the north and northeast during the day. At the beginning of the night, along the coast, and during the day both in coastal and central regions, wind gusts will reach up to 15 m/s. At night, air temperature will drop to -1…+3°C, while during daylight hours the thermometer will rise to +4…+9°C.

On Thursday and Friday, weather conditions will be influenced by an anticyclone from the north — sunshine will appear more frequently and the days will be dry. The gusty wind will gradually subside. At night, as the skies clear,

temperatures in some places will fall to as low as -5°C, while during the day the air will warm to +4…+9°C.

Over the weekend, weather conditions will be similar, although in some areas there may be occasional rain clouds bringing light rain. Although temperatures will still drop below zero at night in some places, daytime temperatures will be a few degrees higher than during the working week. At the beginning of the new week, weather conditions will remain changeable — both rain clouds and sunshine are expected.
