Meteorologists promise up to +20° C in Latvia soon

With the south-east and south portion of an active cyclone closing in to Latvia, the first half of the weekend in Latvia’s eastern parts is expected to be rainy. As high atmospheric pressure draws closer, however, Mother’s Day will pass with dry and sunny weather, as reported by Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On Friday, 6 May, weather will be somewhat cloudy. Central and eastern regions may experience some rain. Wind speed will be slow and will blow from the south.

Maximum daytime air temperature in most of the country will stay between +15° C… +20° C.

Along the coast, however, the air will warm up to +12° C… +14° C.
On Saturday night the amount of clouds will remain volatile. It will gradually become cloudier from the morning onward. Meteorologists predict some rain in eastern parts of Latvia as the south-east and south portion of a nearby cyclone draws closer. The wind will blow from the west. Minimal air temperature at night will stay at +2° C… +8° C, whereas daytime air temperature will reach +10° C… +17° C. Air temperature will remain slightly lower along the coast.
On the night to Sunday weather will remain cloudy and somewhat rainy. As atmospheric pressure increases in morning hours, however, precipitation will gradually calm down and the sky will gradually clear up, making Mother’s Day a sunny holiday in Latvia. The wind will blow from the north and will remain slow to moderate.
At night air temperature will drop to +5° C… +9° C, with maximum daytime air temperature reaching +13° C… +16° C. In most of the country air temperature will range between +7° C… +12° C.
