On Friday, the 15th of March, rain will be observed only locally. On Sunday, however, rain will be observed on most of the country. With colder masses of air flowing to the country, on Sunday there will be wet snow and snow. However, no layer of snow will form, according to Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On Sunday, the 17th of March, fog will appear in coastal regions, limiting visibility. The wind will blow from the south and south-west, reaching a speed of 15 m/sec in coastal regions. In the afternoon the wind will blow the north.
Meteorologists say that minimal night-time air temperature will be around +2° C… +7° C, though it may be a couple of degrees lower at times. Daytime air temperature will reach +7° C… +12° C (+3° C… +8° C on Sunday).
In the first half of the week, colder masses of air will continue flowing to the country. This means air temperature at night will drop below 0° C. The night to Tuesday will be the coldest – air temperature will drop to -3° C… -5° C. Atmospheric pressure will go up, wind speed will be low, and weather in general will become dry.
Current forecasts show that multiple cyclones will approach Latvia on Thursday, so weather will become windy and rich with precipitation.
