Meteorologists predict especially hot and dry summer for Baltic States

Aside from some northern areas, most of Europe is expected to have an unusually hot and dry summer this year, according to information from European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts.
May commenced in Scandinavia, Baltic States and Russia colder than usual. For the rest of Europe, however, the average air temperature is expected higher than usual.
In June, July and August only some areas in Scandinavia and Russia are expected to have air temperature in accordance with the average annual index. For the rest of Europe, however, air temperature is expected to be considerably above the norm.
Southern and central parts of Europe are expected to have an especially hot and dry summer this year.
All summer months are expected to be hotter and drier than usual in Baltic States. Expected deviations from the norm are not expected to be high in Europe’s central and southern territories.
Next week already many parts of Western and Central Europe may experience air temperatures reaching up to +30° C.
Colder weather will return to Latvia briefly on Sunday, 8 May. But weather will start getting warmer over the course of next week. Meteorologists expect air temperature to reach +20° C. Cyclone activity will increase, wind speed will increase and more precipitation will arrive.

On the night to 9 May air temperature in many parts of Latvia may drop to 0° C… -4° C. Negative air temperatures are also expected on the night to 10 May.
