The first days of September in Latvia passed under calm weather conditions, according to Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre. It was dry and mostly sunny in the country. Nights did become colder, however.
The lowest air temperature since the middle of June was recorded early in the morning on Thursday –
air temperature in Zosēni dropped to +3.4° C,
in Madona air temperature dropped to +4° C, and in Rēzekne and Alūksne air temperature dropped to +4.7° C. Nevertheless, meteorological summer still continues in Latvia. In the coming days air temperature will go up, reaching upwards of +25° C… +26° C this weekend.
At the end of the week there will be a small amount of clouds. Friday, the 8th of September, will pass without precipitation.
This weekend weather will remain similar – although the sky will be covered with clouds, no rain is expected. On the night to Saturday fog may form in some regions and may remain until morning hours.
Nights will become slightly warmer.
Minimal air temperature will be +10° C… +16° C, whereas daytime air temperature will reach +20° C.. +25° C.
In the first half of next week weather conditions will not change much. Weather will remain calm and dry. Current weather forecasts indicate that atmospheric pressure will start going down starting the middle of the week. In the second half of next week atmospheric pressure will go down, wind speed will go up and there will be rain. Air temperature will go down by a couple of degrees next week.
