On Friday, the weather will be mostly cloudy, though occasional clear skies and sunshine are expected. Short periods of rain are forecast in some areas, and during the night and early morning, wet snow and snow pellets may occur in certain regions, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Winds will be light to moderate from the north. Overnight, frost is expected in most of the country, with temperatures dropping to 0 to –3°C, while coastal areas will remain slightly warmer, with lows between +1 and +5°C. During the day, temperatures will rise to between +6 and +10°C.
Over the weekend, clouds will alternate with sunshine, and occasional showers are expected in some places. On Saturday, wet snow is also possible. Winds will continue to blow lightly to moderately from the north. Nights will remain chilly, with temperatures between +1 and +6°C, and in some places, ground frost is expected where temperatures dip to 0 to –1°C. Daytime temperatures will reach +7 to +12°C.
Next week, a warmer air mass will gradually move into the country, leading to a rise in temperatures. In many areas, daytime highs are expected to reach +10 to +15°C. While the beginning of the week will see little precipitation, rain is expected in many parts of the country during the second half of the week.
