May still holds back: after a sunny Tuesday, storms, fog and thunderstorms expected

Tuesday will bring a mix of clouds and sunshine with no rain expected. Winds will remain light, and air temperatures will rise to +13…+17°C, although coastal areas may see slightly cooler conditions of +11…+12°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

On Wednesday, a precipitation zone will cross Latvia from the morning, bringing widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms. During the night, fog is expected to form in parts of the southwest and northeast, reducing visibility to 500–1000 meters. Northwest and west winds will strengthen during the day, reaching gusts of 15–18 m/s in Kurzeme and coastal areas. Nighttime temperatures will range from +3 to +8°C, while daytime temperatures will reach +8 to +12°C.

Thursday will remain mostly cloudy, with occasional glimpses of sunshine. Rain is forecast for eastern regions during the night and for the entire country during the day. Winds will ease slightly, blowing from the northwest and north at light to moderate strength, with gusts up to 15 m/s along the coast during the early hours of the night.

Toward the weekend and early next week, similar weather conditions will persist — both Saturday and Sunday are expected to bring rain to parts of the country. Daytime temperatures will remain moderate, not exceeding +14…+17°C.
