The first day of March in Latvia will be dry and with moments of clear sky. The wind will blow from the south and south-east and will be slow to moderate. Daytime air temperature will reach +4° C… +9° C (+12° C in the far south east of the country), as reported by Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
The weekend will pass without precipitation. On Saturday the sky will clear up only at times. On Sunday, however, clouds will disperse in most of the country. Minimal air temperature will drop to 0° C… +4° C, but n the night to Sunday air temperature may drop below 0° C in eastern parts of the country. Daytime air temperature will reach +3° C… +9° C as warmer masses of air remain in western parts of the country.
Meteorologists say that in the first half of the week weather will be dictated by an active anticyclone – the sky will shine between the clouds more often and no precipitation will appear. At night, as the sky clears up, air temperature will drop to 0° C… -5° C.
Maximum air temperature is expected between 0° C and +6° C. In eastern parts of Latvia and coastal regions, however, air temperature may stay a couple of degrees below 0° C.
