In the first half of the week weather in Latvia will be dictated by a cyclone. This means snowing in the coming days. No major changes in air temperature are expected. It will become warmer in the second half of the week, as reported by Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On Monday, 21 November, weather will be dictated by the eastern portion of a cyclone. A precipitation zone will pass through the country. This means more clouds and more snow. The thickness of snow will increase by 1-4 cm. Daytime air temperature will stay within -1° C… -6° C.
Because certain sections of roads may be slippery, motorists are advised to be cautious.
On Tuesday, 22 November, the sky will be cloudy. There will be moments of clear sky in western areas. A new cyclone will approach Latvia at night, bringing snowfall to eastern parts of the country. The thickness of snow will increase by 5-9 cm. At night air temperature will drop to -2° C… -7° C. Daytime air temperature will not go higher than 0° C… -5° C.
Snowing will calm down on the night to Wednesday, 23 November. The wind will blow from the north-east and east. Air temperature will reach +1° C… -4° C.
In the second half of the week weather in Latvia will remain cloudy. However, Thursday and Friday will pass without major precipitation. Wind speed will be slow to moderate east, north-east wind. At the end of the week some snowing is expected. The wind will calm down. Air temperature will stay within +1° C… -4° C at night and +1° C… +4° C during the day. This will cause the snow to melt in some areas.
