At the end of the workweek, variable weather conditions are expected in Latvia. The sun will alternate with clouds, which in many places will bring precipitation – both short-term rain and, in some areas, heavy thunderstorms, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
During thunderstorms, sudden wind gusts are possible. The wind will mostly remain light, but precisely because of this, fog may form during the night and early morning hours in some places, which could reduce visibility. Nighttime temperatures will remain relatively warm, ranging from +14°C to +19°C. During the day, air temperatures will rise to between +24°C and +29°C, though slightly cooler conditions are expected in coastal areas.
Over the weekend, a new cyclone will again reach Latvia and continue to influence the weather.
Clouds will cover the skies and bring rain across nearly the entire country during the daytime. Thunderstorms are expected in some regions, the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre reports.
Northern winds will continue to dominate, and air temperatures will remain similar – in many areas, thermometers will climb up to around +25°C during the day. At the beginning of next week, the cyclone’s influence will still be felt – the sun will alternate with clouds, and rain is expected in most parts of the country, with the possibility of thunderstorms in some areas.
