From mid-September 2022 Latvijas gāze JSC (LG) will no longer offer equalised payment option to consumers in the country, according to the company’s published announcement regarding the payment order for gas users and households that are supplied with natural has as part of the final guaranteed supply service.
The published payment order published in the Latvian Herald no longer mentions equalised payment option.
Representatives from LG refused to comment the published announcement.
LG reported that more information will be reported to society and household clients around the end of August, considering that the new payment order will come to force on 15 September.
The current payment order states that the equalised monthly payment amount is dictated by the trader based on information regarding their historic gas consumption volumes and maximum permissible load in the gasified facility, or based on the contract between the seller and the user if the client’s gas consumption is unknown.
The equalised monthly payment is calculated for the next account period – usually 12 months. If necessary, the traders informs the user about changes to their equalised payment amount. Users pay for gas in accordance with information received from their gas provider.
Latvijas gāze’s biggest shareholders include Russian Gazprom (34%), Marguerite Gas II.S.a.r.l. (28.97%), German Uniper Ruhrgas International GmbH (18.26%), and Itera Latvija LLC (16%).
