Prime Minister Evika Siliņa (New Unity) plans to attend the upcoming Milan–Cortina Winter Olympic Games together with three accompanying staff members from her office, Prime Minister’s adviser Anna Ūdre has confirmed.
Siliņa, President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs, and Minister of Education and Science Dace Melbārde (New Unity) have been included in the Latvian Olympic delegation for Milan–Cortina 2026 as honorary guests.
Travelling to Italy with Siliņa will also be three representatives from her office: Head of the Prime Minister’s Office Ieva Zīberga, protocol adviser Skaidrīte Zarāne, and digital communications adviser Paula Muizinika.
These will be the first Olympic Games that Siliņa will attend in her capacity as a public official.
As previously reported, the Latvian Olympic Committee has approved a delegation of 68 athletes, which will be Latvia’s largest-ever representation at the Winter Olympic Games. The next Winter Olympics will take place from the 6th to the 22nd of February.
