Latvian Parliament’s spending to rise – over 40 million euros planned for next year

The Latvian Saeima’s expenditures for next year are projected to reach 40,462,882 euros, which is more than 2 million euros higher than in 2025, according to information obtained by the LETA news agency.

The planned spending covers the legislative process in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Saeima, as well as the maintenance and security improvements of the parliamentary building complex, modernization of information and communication technologies, official visits by MPs and staff, and the reception of foreign dignitaries.

Members of the Saeima’s Public Expenditure and Audit Committee are scheduled to discuss the Parliament’s 2026 budget on Tuesday, the 11th of November, according to the committee’s meeting agenda.

The meeting, which will also be attended by representatives of the Saeima Administration, is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
