Latvian meteorologists predict precipitation and fog for now; more sun expected this weekend

Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be cloudy in Latvia. Eastern parts of the country, however, may see more clear sky, as reported by Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

On Tuesday there will be local showers in western regions in the afternoon. On Wednesday, however, precipitation in the form of rain and snow will come to other areas. Freezing ran is possible in eastern parts on Wednesday.

Meteorologists say that fog will appear in western and central regions at night and in morning hours. The wind will be slow to moderate in speed and will blow from the south and south-east. Air temperature will drop to +2° C… -3° C (-4° C… -9° C in eastern regions). On Tuesday night, however, air temperature may drop as far as -14° C. Daytime air temperature, on the other hand, will be positive and will stay between +2° C and +7° C. It will be colder in eastern parts of the country, where air temperature will rise to 0° C.

In the second half of the week, a small cyclone will bring about clouds, which will, in turn, bring precipitation to Latvia – mostly rain and wet snow. The sky will clear up more often at the end of the week. Nevertheless, some precipitation is still expected. Air temperature may still drop below 0° C at night. During the day, however, air temperature will remain positive in the entire country.
