Latvian government supports provision of additional military support to Ukraine

At a meeting on Thursday, 28 July, Latvia’s government approved the proposal from the Ministry of Defence to provide additional military support to Ukraine, as confirmed by Minister of Defence Artis Pabriks on Twitter.
The ministry did not comment to LETA in what way this support will be provided.
The Cabinet of Ministers called an extraordinary meeting to discuss this topic.

Since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine Latvia has held multiple closed meetings to discuss different ways of providing assistance to Ukrainian armed forces and interior affairs sector.

So far Latvia has provided Ukraine with military support worth more than EUR 200 million. This includes arms, individual equipment, UAVs, MREs, munitions, anti-tank weapons and Stinger anti-air missile launchers.
