Directed by Gints Zilbalodis, Latvian feature-length animated film “Flow” has been nominated for two Oscar awards, as announced by US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at an online event.
Zilbalodis’ animated film will compete for the award in the categories “Best Feature Animated Film” and “Best International Film”.

The second film to be nominated for the Oscar was the 2009 feature film “Defenders of Riga” by director Aigars Graubas. Until now, none of the Latvian films nominated for it have received the award from the US Academy Award.
