Latvia will withhold funding from IShowSpeed if he visits Russia

Minister of Economics Viktors Valainis announced on the platform “X” that Latvia will not pay 30,000 euros to the popular streamer “IShowSpeed” if he follows through with his intention to visit Russia.

Valainis wrote on his “X” account that the 30,000 euros mentioned in connection with IShowSpeed’s visit to Latvia has not yet been paid out to anyone. If the content creator visits Russia, as a supporter of an aggressor state, he will not receive any payment. The minister also added that he will encourage his colleagues in the other Baltic states to take similar action.

As previously reported by BNN, the internet personality’s visit to Riga, Latvia, on Tuesday, the 15th of June, drew several thousand fans, primarily young people, at various gathering points.

(Union of Greens and Farmers) and Riga City Council member Mairis Briedis (Stability), according to content shared on the streamer’s YouTube channel.

It had been previously reported that, given IShowSpeed’s large audience, the Baltic states agreed to use his visit as an opportunity to promote the region’s visibility in tourism, with each country jointly covering 30,000 euros in expenses.

Meanwhile, it is known that the popular streamer, who recently visited the Baltic states, has announced his intention to travel in the future to Russia and North Korea.
