From 15 May onward residents in Latvia will no longer have to wear protective masks when using public transport services, as provided by amendments passed by the Cabinet of Ministers’ Epidemiological Safety Measures for the Containment of the Spread of COVID-19 Infection passed on Tuesday, 10 May.
The Ministry of Transport explains that amendments were proposed, considering that all previous security measures are already lifted since the risk of Covid-19 infection has dropped to low level.
As previously reported, most Covid-19 restrictions in Latvia were lifted on 1 April. The only requirement that remains in force is wearing protective masks in public transports, healthcare institutions and lasting social care centres.
Most residents already don’t wear protective masks in public transports.
