Latvia records lowest voter turnout since restoration of independence in 15th Saeima election · BNN

Voter turnout in Latvia’s 15th Saeima election has been the lowest since the restoration of independence, according to information compiled by LETA.

With voter turnout data compiled from 995 of 1,059 polling stations, preliminary figures show that 50.81% of eligible voters participated in the 15th Saeima election.

The second-lowest turnout was recorded in the 13th Saeima election, when 54.56% of eligible voters cast their ballots, while the third-lowest turnout was recorded in the 12th Saeima election, at 58.85%.

The highest voter turnout since Latvia restored its independence was recorded in the 5th Saeima election, when 89.9% of eligible voters participated.

Turnout in the 6th Saeima election was 71.9%, followed by 71.89% in the 7th Saeima election, 71.51% in the 8th Saeima election, 63.12% in the 10th Saeima election, 60.98% in the 9th Saeima election, 59.45% in the 11th Saeima election and 59.41% in the 14th Saeima election.
