At the beginning of the week weather in Latvia is expected to be cloudy. By the middle of the week the amount of clouds will be volatile. Some rain showers also expected. In the second half of the week, as colder masses of air flow to the country flows to the country there is also a possibility of wet snow.
At the start of the week weather in Latvia will be dictated by cyclone activity. On Monday, 25 April, weather will be overcast, with local showers in some areas. Rainfall is expected to be more intensive in eastern portions of the country. The wind will be slow to moderate and will blow from the north. Air temperature at night will remain at +2° C… +6° C, whereas daytime air temperature will reach +10° C… +12° C (+6° C… +9° C along the coast), as reported by Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On the night to Tuesday the sky will remain cloudy. Weather will become sunny as cyclone activity drops. Some rain is still expected in some areas on Tuesday. The wind will be moderate and will blow from the west. Minimal air temperature is expected at +1° C… +5° C at night, whereas daytime air temperature will stay at +8° C… +13° C. Air temperature will be lower along the coast.
On Wednesday and Thursday the amount of clouds will be volatile. Some local short-term rain is expected in some areas. On the night to Thursday northern parts of Latvia may experience wet snow. The wind will be slow to moderate and will blow from the west and north-west. With colder masses of air flowing to the country, negative air temperature is still expected in some areas at night: on the night to Wednesday, for example, air temperature will drop to -1° C… +4° C and on the night to Thursday air temperature will drop by a couple of degrees more. Air temperature will drop below 0° C in some parts of the country. Daytime air temperature will remain positive: +4° C… +9° C.
According to current forecasts, at the end of the week the amount of clouds will remain volatile and precipitation is expected only around Friday. The end of April will pass mostly without precipitation.
The wind will be slow and will blow from the east. Minimal night-time air temperature will drop below 0° C in many areas, staying between -2° C and +3° C, whereas daytime air temperature will reach +5° C… +10° C.
