In June the unemployment level in Latvia was 6.4% and was higher than the average in the European Union, but lower than the level in Eurozone, according to data published by Eurostat.
According to this data, unemployment in among EU member states was the highest in Spain (12.6%), Greece (12.3%), Italy (8.1%), Sweden (7.6%), France (7.2%) and Finland (6.5%).
Unemployment was the lowest in the Czech Republic (2.4%), Poland (2.7%), Germany (2.8%), as well as Malta and Hungary (3% in both). Unemployment in Estonia was 5.7% and in Lithuania it was 5.8%.
The average unemployment in the EU, according to seasonally adjusted data, was 6% in June (6.6% in Eurozone member states).
Data from Eurostat indicates that in June 12.931 million unemployed people in the bloc’s countries. 10.925 million of them were in Eurozone member states.
