On Friday, sunshine will alternate with clouds, with occasional short rain showers expected in some areas. A light to moderate east wind will blow, turning southerly in western regions by the afternoon, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
At night, temperatures will drop to +10…+15°C, while coastal areas along the sea and the western side of the Gulf will be a few degrees warmer. During the day, air temperatures will rise to +21…+24°C, and in southeastern regions even up to +26°C.
Over the weekend, skies will occasionally clear. On Saturday, a rain zone will move in from the south – bringing showers at times, mainly in central and eastern regions, with isolated thunderstorms possible.
On Sunday, rain is expected across most of the country, again with the chance of local thunderstorms.
Winds will ease and remain light. Nighttime temperatures will stay between +13…+17°C, while daytime highs will reach +18…+23°C. On Saturday, however, southeastern regions may see the mercury rise to +24…+28°C.
At the start of the new work week, some sunshine will break through the clouds, with more significant rainfall expected on Tuesday and Wednesday. Daytime highs will remain similar, reaching up to +24°C.
