From 1 May onward the heating energy price will be nearly 200 EUR/MWh without VAT, according to the decision made by the Public Utilities Commission (SPRK).
From 1 May until 31 December 2022 the heating energy tariff set by LLC Rēzeknes Siltumtīkli will be 198.13 EUR/MWh, which is 4.6 times above the current tariff – 42.8 EUR/MWh.
Heating energy production tariff for this period of time will be 159.91 MWh, the heating energy transmission tariff will be 37.67 MWh, heating energy commercial tariff will be 0.52 MWh, and the natural gas excise tax component will be 0.03 EUR/MWh.
From 1 January 2023 onward, however, the tariff will be slightly lower – 195.88 EUR/MWh.
Rezekne municipality previously explained that the contract signed between Rēzeknes Siltumtīkli and JSC Latvijas Gāze ended in April.
According to information from the municipal administration, because the contract was signed under favourable conditions for the municipality, this allowed Rezekne to get through the heating season with a low heating tariff, whereas other Latvian cities experienced sharp tariff surges.
With the new procurement in April the company procured natural gas for the city’s needs for a price of 109 EUR/MWh, which is ten times above the previous price.
Rēzeknes Siltumtīkli was registered in 1994. Its base capital is EUR 5.45 million, according to information from Firmas.lv. In 2011 the company operated with turnover of EUR 8.344 million and losses of EUR 967 240. Rēzeknes Siltumtīkli is owned by Rezekne City Council.
