The number of vaccinated people in Latvia increased on Wednesday. Nevertheless, exact vaccination numbers may change. The reason is because not all doctors input vaccination data into the system on the same day as they administer jabs. Sometimes data is put in with a delay of several days.
Unfortunately, Covid-19 vaccination rate remains several times behind the rate observed at the end of May, when more than 16 700 people were vaccinated on average every day in a single week.
On Wednesday 2 543 people in Latvia received their first jab with Covid-19 vaccine, 2 132 received the second, 1 772 were vaccinated using Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine, which requires only one jab. 21 people received Covid-19 vaccine booster shots, according to data from NVD.
There are four Covid-19 vaccines approved for use in the EU: Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and J&J or Janssen.
