Light precipitation is expected only in some areas on Thursday and Saturday, while the weather will remain predominantly grey and overcast throughout the week, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
In the coming days, fog will thicken in places, reducing visibility. Southerly and south-westerly winds will dominate, blowing at light to moderate strength, becoming gusty along the coast in the second half of the week. On Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures in many areas will hover around 0°C, though air temperatures will generally range between +1 and +6°C. During the daytime, coastal areas will be a couple of degrees warmer.
The following week will also begin with calm weather and little precipitation, but temperatures — especially during the darker hours of the day — will be a few degrees lower than during the pre-holiday week.
