German Defense Minister: The worst thing is the lack of a strategy to end the Iran conflict

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has said that Berlin is ready to support efforts to conclude peace in Iran, but warned that he does not yet see a clear strategy for ending the conflict, writes Politico.
After meeting with Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles, Pistorius told reporters in Canberra on the 25th of March that there is no strategy in sight, no clear goals, and in his view the worst thing is that there is no strategy for ending the conflict. The minister added that Germany is ready to ensure any peace. “If it comes to a point where we have a ceasefire, then we will discuss every kind of operation to secure the peace, to secure … the freedom of navigation [in the Strait of Hormuz], but the time has not yet come,” Pistorius stressed.
Pistorius, who said that a ceasefire should be reached as soon as possible, first turned to Iran, but the message is also intended for the United States. Meanwhile,

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has indicated that he does not plan to enter into negotiations with Washington.

The German Defense Minister said that the conflict poses a real risk of increasing instability in the region, and, as we know from history, it always has an impact on the entire world. He reiterated Germany’s extremely critical position on the war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran, which has only become harsher in recent weeks. The minister said that no one asked the allies for their opinion before the attack, and since this is not a German war, they do not want to be drawn into it, this must be understood very clearly.
Pistorius also spoke about the economic impact of the conflict – it is a disaster for world economies, and the impact is already very noticeable.
