On Wednesday, the skies will be cloudy, although they will clear up in the eastern regions during the first half of the day, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Both at night and during the day, occasional light and brief rain is expected in some western areas. A light to moderate southeast wind will blow. During the night to Wednesday, air temperatures will drop to between 0 and +5°C in many places, and in the eastern regions — even to between 0 and –3°C. During the day, air temperatures will rise to between +6 and +11°C.
Thursday and Friday will bring mostly cloudy weather, with occasional clear spells.
On Thursday, precipitation is expected in most parts of the country, while on Friday rain is likely — in the eastern regions during the night and morning, and in the west during the afternoon.
The southeast and south winds will continue, becoming gusty on Friday
in the eastern and central parts of Latvia.
At night, temperatures will drop to between +5 and +10°C, only slightly lower in the east. On Thursday, daytime air temperatures will reach between +7 and +11°C, while on Friday it will become a bit warmer — the thermometer will climb to between +12 and +15°C.
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre notes that over the weekend, weather conditions will continue to be influenced by a cyclone — a broad area of precipitation will move across Latvia from the southwest during the night to Saturday. Nighttime temperatures will rise by another degree compared to previous days, while daytime temperatures will remain within +7 to +12°C.
At the beginning of next week, rain clouds will still be observed over most of the country. In some places along the Kurzeme coast, winds will be gusty, although both night and daytime air temperatures will become slightly lower.
