On Wednesday, skies will see variable cloudiness, wit h some rain expected overnight in the eastern part of the country. A light wind will prevail, and for this reason, fog may form in some places at night and in the early morning hours, reducing visibility, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
During the dark hours of the day, temperatures will drop to between +10°C and +15°C in many areas, and to around +16°C–+17°C in some coastal locations. Daytime temperatures will rise to between +20°C and +25°C.
On Thursday and Friday, a high-pressure centre will be located over Latvia, bringing more summer-like weather. Sunshine will alternate with clouds, and only light precipitation is expected on Friday. With light winds, fog will form in some eastern areas on Thursday night, again reducing visibility. Overnight temperatures will range from +9°C to +14°C, a degree or two warmer along the coast, while daytime highs will reach +22°C to +27°C.
The weekend will bring changes in both precipitation and temperature — on Saturday, widespread rain clouds accompanied by thunderstorms are expected, while on Sunday, a relatively cooler air mass will once again flow in from the north, with the cooler conditions persisting into the start of the new week.
