From +27°C to +15°C – temperature to drop sharply this week

On Monday, skies will remain mostly clear, but during the day, clouds will gradually increase from the west, and by evening, a precipitation zone will reach the western regions, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

During the day, air temperatures will rise to +22…+27°C, but in some coastal areas, where the wind blows from the water, temperatures will be lower – around +19…+22°C.

On Tuesday, variable cloud cover is expected. At night, some rain may occur in central and eastern regions, while during the day only isolated showers are likely, with a chance of hearing some thunder as well. A light to moderate west-southwesterly wind will blow, strengthening in the eastern part of the country during the day. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +12…+16°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +17…+22°C.

On Wednesday, rain is expected in most of the country starting in the morning, with the possibility of thunderstorms in some areas. The west-southwesterly wind will persist and intensify during the day, with gusts reaching 15–16 m/s. As cooler air masses move in, the weather will become chillier – during the day, temperatures will rise only to +15…+19°C.

In the second half of the week, as the influence of a cyclone intensifies, precipitation will increase, and gusty winds will prevail throughout the country. In many places, the maximum air temperature will be around +15°C. Weather conditions will improve over the weekend – skies will gradually clear, and both the amount and spread of precipitation will decrease. Days are expected to become slightly warmer as well.
