Friday – the warmest day, followed by cooler and rainier weather

On Friday, the sky will be mostly cloudy. During the night, occasional rain is expected in some areas, particularly in the eastern part of the country, while during the day, showers are likely in many regions. With a light to moderate southeasterly wind, fog will form in some areas during the night and early morning, reports the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

Overnight temperatures will drop to +5…+10°C, while during the day they will gradually rise to +10…+15°C. Friday will be the warmest day of the week.

On Saturday, cloudy weather will persist across Latvia. A new precipitation zone will move in from the southwest, bringing prolonged rain to many areas. A light to moderate southeast and east wind will gradually turn southerly to southwesterly during the day.

Air temperatures will remain fairly constant both day and night, ranging from +8…+13°C.

On Sunday, occasional sunny intervals may appear between the clouds, but most of the country will experience rainy and grey weather. A moderate to fairly strong south and southwest wind will shift to southerly and southeasterly during the day. In coastal areas, wind gusts may reach up to 15 m/s. Overnight temperatures will fall to +4…+8°C, while during the day they will remain around +8…+11°C.

In the first half of next week, under the continuing influence of a cyclone, skies will remain frequently cloudy with occasional rain. Nights will become colder, and daytime temperatures will not exceed +10°C.
