At the beginning of the week the amount of clouds will be volatile in the skies above Latvia. Moments of clear sky are expected, but in the second half of the week many areas may experience showers. The wind will draw in from the south, bringing warmer masses of air to Latvia.
Nights will gradually become warmer and daytime air temperature will gradually reach +15° C, according to Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On Monday, 2 May, southern winds will reach a speed of 15 m/sec along the coast. On Tuesday the wind will blow from the north-west, reaching high speeds along the coast and in Vidzeme. On Monday daytime air temperature will reach +9° C… +14° C. On the night to Tuesday air temperature will drop to +3° C… +7° C, whereas on Tuesday it will reach +7° C… +12° C.
On the night to Wednesday weather will be dry and clear. On 4 May the amount of clouds will increase and northern parts of the country will experience rainfall.
The wind will be slow to moderate and will blow from the west. Minimal air temperature at night is expected to be +1° C… -3° C (0° C… +4° C along the coast). Maximum air temperature will be +7° C… +12° C.
The warmest 4 May since the restoration of Latvia’s independence was observed in 2002, when air temperature reached +28.4° C in Pāvilosta and Liepāja.
