The French government under Prime Minister Michel Barnier collapsed on Wednesday, the 4th of December, after a no-confidence vote in the National Assembly.
331 out of 577 MPs voted in favour of ousting the government.
This is the first time in the last 60 years when the French government has collapsed after a no-confidence vote.
The no-confidence vote was initiated by the far-left, but it was also supported by the National Rally.
After the no-confidence vote, the far-left also requested the dismissal of President Emmanuel Macron.
