Forecasters: Up to +28 in the coming days, but thunderstorms expected too

On Tuesday, skies will be cloudy, though at times the sun will break through, and the weather will be mostly dry. Overnight and in the morning, fog will form in some areas, reducing visibility. A light to moderate east and southeast wind will blow. Minimum air temperatures will range from +9C, while during the day they will rise to +19C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

On Wednesday, the sun will alternate with clouds. Rain is expected mainly in western regions, but by evening it will reach other parts of the country as well in some places heavy downpours are likely, along with localized thunderstorms. A light to moderate easterly wind will gradually ease from late morning. Minimum overnight temperatures will be +14C in the west, cooler in the east at +9C. Maximum daytime temperatures will reach +20C in western Kurzeme, but elsewhere in the country the air will warm to +23C.

On Thursday, skies will be partly cloudy. In some eastern areas rain is expected, and overnight localized showers and thunderstorms are possible. With light winds, fog will form overnight and in the morning in some areas, reducing visibility. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +13C, while daytime highs will climb to +20C.

Toward the end of the week, the weather will remain similar: occasional sunshine between clouds, with periods of rain and possible thunderstorms. Nights will cool to +13C, while days will stay warm, with local highs reaching up to +25C. At the start of next week, daytime temperatures will remain in the range of +19C, but rainy weather is expected.
