Forecasters predict spring warmth in Latvia – temperatures up to +15°C over the weekend

Forecasters say Latvia will experience pleasant spring weather this weekend, with sunshine expected on most days and temperatures rising to as high as +15°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the sun will frequently appear in the sky, although Sunday is expected to be cloudier. Rain is forecast mainly in western parts of the country later on Sunday.

Night-time temperatures will range between 0°C and +5°C, while daytime temperatures will be spring-like, reaching +10°C to +15°C. Stronger winds are expected only on Friday along the Baltic Sea coast, where a gusty southerly wind will blow. Fog may also develop in some areas, mostly during the night and early morning hours.

At the beginning of next week, the weather will become more unsettled with increased precipitation.

A cloud system moving in from the west will bring moderate rain across much of the country.

However, conditions are expected to improve again on Tuesday, when the influence of a high-pressure system strengthens and rainfall gradually subsides. At the same time, colder air will move into Latvia, and daytime temperatures across much of the country will drop to +3°C to +8°C.

Dry weather is expected to continue on Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures gradually rising again as the week progresses.
