Wednesday and Thursday will pass with variable cloudiness and no significant precipitation. A light to moderate west-southwest wind will blow, shifting to a south-southwest direction on Thursday, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology, and Meteorology Centre.
On Thursday night and in the early morning hours, fog will thicken in some areas. During the dark hours of the day, temperatures will be negative in many parts of the country, though slightly higher along the coast, as usual. However, as the sun comes out during the day, it will feel noticeably warmer, with air temperatures rising to +6…+11°C in many places.
By the end of the workweek and into the weekend, the weather in Latvia will take on a distinctly spring-like feel. Warmer air masses will flow in, and over the weekend, thermometers will approach the +15°C mark. The weather will be dry and sunny. A light to moderate west-southwest wind will persist, turning north-northwest on Friday.
During the first half of the new week, weather conditions will change – clouds will begin to cover the sky, bringing rain. It will become windier. At night, temperatures will no longer drop below 0°C, and during the day, they will rise to around 10°C.
