On the 11th of April 2025, one of the most significant events in the Baltic communication industry took place – the Mi:t&Links Baltic Communication Awards 2025. The communication campaign for the animated film Flow – titled “We flooded Latvia” – received two Gold Awards in the categories Integrated Communication and Digital Communication. The campaign was developed and executed by the public relations agency Golin Riga.
The campaign for Flow was launched during a challenging time, when Latvia had one of the lowest cinema attendance rates in the Baltics following the COVID-19 pandemic. Local films faced major difficulties in reaching a wider audience. Aware of this context, the campaign aimed not only to boost ticket sales but also to renew public interest in Latvian cinema and position Flow as a significant cultural event.
The film’s producer Matīss Kaža notes: “Part of Flow’s success lies in its well-thought-out marketing and communication campaign, which helped the film break records in terms of audience numbers. We are glad the Golin team has received this recognition for a truly successful campaign that helped the Cat become one of the brightest symbols of contemporary Latvian culture.”
“The campaign was created in a difficult period, but we believed in its power and its ability to resonate with the public. Latvian cinema deserves the same support and trust we give to our athletes – with confidence in our creative potential and our ability to inspire even beyond national borders,” emphasizes Golin Riga’s Managing Partner Dāvis Sakne.
The campaign’s success confirms that a creative approach, a clearly defined strategy, and understanding of the audience’s needs can have a significant impact, even in challenging circumstances. Golin Riga expresses its gratitude to all partners and viewers who were part of this journey — because only together can we create communication that truly matters.
