After the nomination of Welfare Minister Evika Silina (JV) as the Prime Minister, there is no reason for optimism that a new government coalition will be formed quickly, political analyst and public relations specialist Filips Rajevskis told LETA.
No other party had put forward a candidate, so President Edgars Rinkevics had been put in a situation where he “had to choose from a pool of one”.

which political forces will be in the coalition and which won’t. By giving Silina the status of an official candidate, an additional push is given to conduct these negotiations.
When asked to predict how quickly a coalition would be formed, the expert replied that he was not optimistic in this respect, given the way the parties’ negotiations had progressed so far.
“I’M NOT OPTIMISTIC THAT IT WILL HAPPEN VERY QUICKLY,” STRESSED THE EXPERT.
As for the “underwater gems”, the expert pointed out that these are the relations between the parties and the ability to understand what compromises the parties are willing to make, and no one knows publicly what the real wishes of the parties are.
As reported by BNN, the President of Latvia nominated the JV candidate the current Minister of Welfare, Evika Silina as Prime Minister.
